A journal of our family's explorations as we find and take pictures with the 250 Birthday Cakes that have been placed around the city of St. Louis for the city's 250th birthday. We are using this display as an opportunity to visit favourite places and discover new ones and have as much fun as we can along the way.

Random Cake sightings
It is always fun when we come across a cake that is still out. Saturday, we went to Serendipity Ice Cream to enjoy a sweet treat (I got yummy ginger this time) and deploy a Munzee. I am attempting to commemorate the hunt by deploy Munzees at each cake spot. Using a Scavenger Hunt game to continue the year long Cake Scavenger Hunt. We discovered that they still have their cake.

February 14, 2015: Valentine Suprise
We went to Cheese-ology today for a late Valentine lunch after our Valentine blood drive. We were sad to learn, this week, that it is closing in March. :-( We wanted to go one last time before it was too late.
I was happy to see that the loop still has cakes!
The Vintage Vinyl cake went up after we did the rest of the Loop cakes. It was good to finally get it!
After lunch, we headed over to the history museum to buy baby cakes. Little miniature StL cakes. We plan to take a cake along as we visit the rest of the cake sites. Turns out this is the last weekend for the 250 exhibit. Unfortunately I was uber exhausted by this point so we didn't go through it. Jacob did get to see it last summer with CYIA. But we found some bonus cakes.
The gold cake was first displayed on NYE and is going to go in a time capsule to be opened in 2064, the 300th bday. The big cake is a Reunion Cake painted by several cake artists and also first displayed on NYE.
One of our Baby Cakes to be painted later.
